Getting Closer...

I did lots of drawing and cutting today, and I plan to heat-set some of the fabrics this evening.  I'm getting close to opening my shop... hopefully soon!

And I'm excited about these leaves.  I plan to sell them in packs of 50 or so, and I can't wait to see what people do with them.  I'm envisioning a fairy costume maybe, or a quilt, or a wall decoration...

WIPs--owls and happiness

Li'i is getting over his cold, so I've gotten more time with my fabric over the last few days.  Here's a peek at some works in progress.

I worry those owl feathers look a little too much like, ahem, pubic hair, so I may have to do some tweaking before this design is shop-worthy.

Cut and Ready for Printing

Got a big stack of new shirts and pants dismembered (cut off their arms and legs-- what else to call it?) today.  They're ready to paint and print as soon as my ink comes.  Woo!

First Cut

There's something vaguely irreverent about cutting up a piece of clothing.  The thrill of snipping into virgin denim for the first time (but Mom, jeans look nerdy without holes [as if this was the end of the world {it was}]) stands out in my mind at least as much as my first kiss.

So it goes with each garment that lands in my repurpose pile.  Rebellion, doubt, excitement, hope. The first of the new shirts is now a pile of fabric on my cutting board (or Li'i's lap, as the case may be).  Eep!
